Default Can The Moon Sustain Life?

To some degree the moon can sustain life, but with its thinner atmosphere and rotation in relation to the Earth, it would mean that one side would be really cold and the other side much hotter. Of course the entire Moon would need to be terra-formed before humans would be able to settle on it, but in all likelihood- it is definitely possible.

Recently NASA discovered about 24 gallons of water that was integrated in the rocks and dust, although scientists have long believed there may be water, it wasn't till recent before actual proof has been found.

No one is certain how it is being produced at the moment and a couple of theories are making its rounds on the internet, but it is a positive sign in the long run.

NASA is really excited at this find and it means that they are one step closer to realising their dreams of creating a Moon base for future missions to Mars.

You might actually be surprised to find that there are some Estate Agents in the U.S. that are already selling land on the moon. The question on everyone?s mind is when space travel will become a more common occurrence in the future. After all, some of us want to experience our own piece of ?Star Wars? before we grow old.

The moon is too small to be Terra-formed, it would lose any atmosphere that it was able to generate because of that, and without a molten core it doesn't have and never will have a magnetic field (unless it shares Earth's)

Cesare summed up what i was going to say on this. Besides moon's gravity will make it harder for us to tera form. Maybe think about mars.

I think it will become more like a space station for space travel rather than a place to establish new population as what want it to.

I highly doubt that the moon can sustain life, but I don't think a lunar space station is so out there. I read an article about the discovery of deep tunnels that could be possible locations for space stations because of the protection they provide from radiation and meteors.

I think any of this is a far way off though, especially with the snail's pace that NASA has established.

You can see the article I mentioned here.

I think we'd be better staying away from other planets or the moon; we'd just pullute and destroy them too.

We wouldn't see it anywhere in our lifetime anyway. Besides, we need to help ourselves before we look at expanding our civilizations to an extraplanetary level. The first to go would be the executive corporations, the rich, and the politicians. Before we know it, we'd be left with third-world-worlds.
